Owner and Coach
Ali Ott has done great things to help everyone in the area become fit and learn their true potential. Having founded CrossFit Zionsville in 2012, Ali has attended CrossFit for 13 years and has been a coach for 8 of them! Ali has lifted weights for as long as he can remember and he even made home-made weights and a wooden bench when he was younger so he could have a make-shift bench press! He has always been involved in athletics because he played soccer as a kid and ran track in high school, but he found his true passion for CrossFit. Ali was introduced to CrossFit in 2005 and realized that it was a perfect outlet for him. Ali moved to Indianapolis for college and got his degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry, but he realized after he graduated that he wasn’t passionate about those things. When he was stressed about school and his workload, he would work out to ease this tension, and shortly after this epiphany, he started CrossFit Zionsville! Ali’s certifications include CrossFit Level 1 and 2, Kids, and Gymnastics. Over the years he has developed favorites and least favorite WODs, and he shared that his least favorite WOD was Jackie, consisting of rowing, thrusters, and pull-ups, while his least favorite is Murph, made up of running, pull-ups, push-ups, and air squats. Ali is very experienced with CrossFit and a great coach that helps people reach their goals!
Amanda received her B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics from Western Kentucky University in 1999. She completed her Dietetic Internship at Indiana University Medical Center and became a Registered Dietitian in 2000.
Astrid has been doing Crossfit for 4 years, taking one of those years to focus on proper weightlifting technique. Originally from Chicago, Astrid has been living in Indy for 6 years, 3 of those years with her partner Leah and 3 dogs. Astrid has a Masters in Science of Management and a BS in Allied Health. See served as a surgical technician which lead her to her current job in surgical informatics at IU Health. When not working or working out, Astrid enjoys cooking, reading biographies, and cracking jokes.
Robb started CrossFit in 2008 while working for the Lee County Sheriff’s Department in Ft Myers, Florida. Shortly after relocating his family back to Indiana in 2009, he attended his CrossFit Level 1 and began coaching fellow Officers. After 15 years, Robb transitioned out of Law Enforcement and into the corporate world but his passion for seeing others reach their fitness goals has continued. Robb enjoys being a part of an environment that pushes people to thrive and exceed their own expectations.
I have now been participating in CrossFit for 2 years, and have been a member of CFZ since August 2016. As a coach I am excited for the opportunity to help members achieve their goals and improve their fitness.
A current Biology and Chemistry student in the Purdue School of Science, Coach Ethan Rinne found a new competitive outlet in the IUPUI Men’s Rowing Team where he competes on a national level against schools like Purdue University, Michigan University, University of Georgia, and Vanderbilt
University. Rinne has competed in athletics from an early age and even played competitive soccer for the Indiana Fire Academy where he was fortunate enough to play against the Chicago Fire Academy, FC Dallas Academy, and New York Red Bulls Academy teams. Rinne credits his athletic and academic careers to chasing the shadow of his older brother Colin, a Full bright scholar, Junior Olympian, and Wabash College alum.
Rinne is inspired by the passionate members of the CrossFit community and notes that his favorite workout is the Murph. The legendary Murph is a workout of 100 pullups, 200 pushups, 300 air squats, and is sandwiched at the start and finished with a one-mile run all while wearing a 20 lb. weighted vest
I found Crossfit in 2013 and have been an avid proponent of Crossfit ever since.
I am a CF-L1 trainer who enjoys helping others find their fitness and preparing for the unknown and the unknowable. I look forward to sharing what I have learned and experienced with you.
